Book Claire & Josh as your live artists!

Create an unforgettable experience for you and your guests

Elevate your next event by booking Claire and Josh as your live artists. Guests will get to enjoy the unique experience of watching a portrait of themselves come to life as well as receive a one-of-a-kind party favor from the celebration.

Claire and Josh will arrive at least 1 hour prior to all bookings to get completely set up and ready to illustrate once guests arrive. We will photograph any interested attendees who want their portrait drawn so that they don’t have to stay at our table and miss out on any festivities. Together, we will work on portraits throughout the night, and any that do not get completed within the booked session will be finished at our home studio and delivered to you within two weeks of the event :)

The live art experience

A woman with dark brown hair, wearing a light blue sleeveless top, is sitting at a table with fashion illustrations and live guest portraits in front of her. She appears to be drawing or coloring. Behind her is a vibrant wall of multicolored flowers.

How does it work?

What supplies do you use?

We use a combination of micron ink pens, high-quality alcohol markers and/or watercolor paint on heavy weight drawing paper. Guest illustrations will be drawn on 5”x7” paper and placed in a clear sleeve with cardboard backing for safe traveling.

A person is watercolor painting a wedding scene on paper, with a watercolor set open beside them. They are doing live guest portraits.

How long does each drawing take?

Each drawing takes between 6-12 minutes, depending on whether it is a single portrait vs a pair, as well as the level of detail in their attire.

Please note that the amount of time can vary depending on how many guests are stopping to chat/ask questions, etc.

Will you draw the bride and groom/couple of honor?

Absolutely! Our wedding packages include a larger, more detailed portrait of the happy couple. We will do this after your special day to ensure that the drawing is not at all rushed. This will be completed, framed and mailed to you within three weeks of your celebration :)

How many people can you guarantee will be drawn during my event?

The number of people we can sketch at an event may vary. That said, we work at a steady pace throughout the entire night to ensure we deliver an appropriate number of drawings in the time allotted. We work as a team to ensure the quality is meeting our very high standards and that we are creating an amazing experience for you and your guests. Any unfinished portraits will be completed and mailed to you within three weeks of your event at our home studio. From there, you can either personally distribute them or include them with thank you cards at a later date!

Where are you located? Do you travel?

We are located in Asheville, North Carolina! We love to travel and would be thrilled to do so for your event. Depending on the distance, whether an overnight stay will be required, etc., travel fees will vary accordingly and will be discussed and agreed upon at the time of booking and detailed in our contract.

There are no travel fees for locations within 100 miles of the Asheville airport.

What is your pricing?

Great question! Pricing varies depending on the number of guests, whether or not travel (beyond 100 miles driving) is required, and if you add on a flower wall backdrop, photo booth, etc.
